My bathtub was ‘smokers’ yellow’ so I used a genius solution

Jun 05, 2023

A MONEY-SAVING woman has revealed how she transformed her grubby bathtub for just £10.

The American woman who moved to the UK has been renovating her Birmingham house and sharing the process on TikTok.

In the clip, the money-saving woman wrote: "Making the s***ty parts of my house less s***ty."

The savvy woman first started transforming the bathroom, and revealed she planned to spray paint the bath panel.

"The bath panel is currently the smokers' lung yellow, so I'm going to spray paint it white," she added.

First, the DIY whizz taped plastic wrapping around the bath panel to ensure the spray paint wouldn't get everywhere.

She then filled in all of the cracks on the bathtub with caulk and let it dry.

"Then I opened the window, directed a fan into the room, and got to spray painting," she explained.

The savvy woman used Direct to Plastic white spray paint which cost just £9.59 on Amazon.

She then began to spray paint the bath panel, and after a few layers, the panel looked good as new.

"Thanks to everyone who suggested this because it looks a million times better," the DIY pro said.

The video posted to her account @thebrickhousechronicles has since gone viral with over 400k views and over 29k likes.

People were quick to praise the DIY whizz for the budget-friendly makeover.

One person wrote: "Made a big difference for such a small thing, well done!"

Another commented: "Huge improvement! Wow."

"What a difference! Looks brand new," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "Wow! Amazing!"

"Wow so simple but so effective visually,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: "Looks great!"
